‘Fieldlines’ was an immersive residency that took place at Alsisar Mahal, in Rajasthan, in the week running up to Magnetic Fields Festival 2019. International and Indian sound artists lived and worked together, alongside traditional folk musicians from the region.
Together with a filmmaker and cultural translator, ‘Fieldlines’ highlighted and conserved the various traditions and playing styles through a collaborative process. The residency culminated in open workshop sessions and a live performance at the festival.
‘Fieldlines’ is a project made possible by the Goethe-Institut’s International Coproduction Fund in collaboration with Magnetic Fields Festival.
